Charlie.Uniform.November.Tango

When we're growing-up, we're always told that swearing is bad- that it's "not big and not clever' to swear. That we get our mouth washed out with soap if we do (No? Was it just me who was threatened with that lovely wee gem?) Even now, despite the fact that I'm 19, my mum still goes nuts if I accidentally say something I shouldn't. One wee F*** and she goes mental. So I know she's going to Hate these!

These poor, not-so-innocent collar clips hail from Tatty Bon and are probably going to be condemned on sight by the said woman.
Tatty Bon is an amazing wee vintage shop on Parnie street in Glasgow. But to be perfectly honest, just calling it a 'vintage shop' doesn't really do it any justice! The shop is a literal Aladdin's Cave of vintage and customised clothes, accessories and jewelry- and there is literally something to suit everyone's taste. As you can see, my tastes run into the slightly vulgar.  But then, I have always had a slightly weird sense of style.

With a little bit of Folk and Soul.

Hello again.

As I sit here- enjoying a well deserved glass of wine after a long, gruelling day of shopping- I’ve once again managed to stumble across an artist who has been hovering on the periphery of my musical tastes for the last couple of months- unsurprising really, considering she recently toured with one of my favourite bands, the magnificent Bon Iver. I'm talking, of course, about the enchanting Lianne La Havas. The savvy few of you out there who may have already spied her on Later……With Jools Holland will already be aware of just how amazing a singer and songwriter she is. Nominated as one of the artists for the BBC'S Sound of 2012, Lianne La Havas is definitely someone who we'll all be hearing tonnes of over the next few months.  Especially since her album will be released on July 12th! Until then though, here's a wee bit of her music to get you interested.

Luckily enough for me, Lianne will be coming to Glasgow on May 6th and- as you may have guessed- I will be attending that particular gig. She will also be touring all over the rest of the UK and if you find yourself wanting  to find out the rest of her tour dates, you can check out her official site: http://www.liannelahavas.com/

Oh, and I think I forgot to mention how much I want to steal her dress for myself! ....And maybe even her hair too? On top of probably being the next musical sensation of the year, I'm also betting that she becomes one of the latest style sensations too! It wouldn't surprise me one wee bit.

Anyway, Goodbye again!

If You Go Down To The Woods Today.....

You know what happens...
You have a gap between classes or a tiny wee bit of extra time on your lunch break and you decide to peruse the amazing world of online shopping. We all have our go to sites- ASOS, Pret-a-Portobello, H&M online ect.- and you know you'll always see something that you like. And you do. But sometimes you find something that you just need to have.  Not only do you like it, suddenly you find yourself daydreaming about what your life will be like when you own it.
Well, that happened to me today. I donated blood this afternoon (my good deed for the week!) and as a wee treat I decided to let myself explore the wonder that is Etsy. Not something I usually do as I always see so much more than I could ever afford to buy. But then I saw this!

3D Bronze Rattlesnake Head Pendant from Moon Raven Designs on Etsy

I know animal and wildlife inspired jewellery has been around for a long, long while now but these pieces are fundamentally unique compared to what you usually find in your average Highstreet store.  Moon Raven Design makes actual casts of real-life creepy-crawlies and turns them into pieces like this beauty here. And the attention to detail is exquisite- each little scale is polished to perfection and as a result all of this jewellery is absolutely worth paying that bit extra for.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm away to spend a stupid amount of money because they do rings and other pretty tidbits too!

Bye again for now,
Love

Hello! It's Nice To Meet You!

Hi!

I decided that before I even started blogging about everything and anything, I would introduce myself to those of you keen enough to read my ramblings. And so, without anymore dallying on my part, here's some random wee facts about me.

My name is Victoria Warnock- but I have been known to answer to V, Vicky, Vicky-Toria, Vic, Vickydoubleyou and Victor (although the last one isn't necessarily by choice!)
I'm 5'3.
I think my hair is my best feature- when it isn't making me look like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards.
I was originally studying to be a school teacher but I've always wanted to do something related to fashion and journalism.
I have far too many clothes for my own good, and I never have anything to wear.
I was born and raised in Glasgow.
I'm a second year student at the University of Stirling.
At least 1/3 of my wardrobe is made up of vintage finds.
My most prized possession is my Alexander McQueen scarf.
I love living in Scotland because the landscape reminds me of fairy-tales and magic.
I generally don't care about what people think of me- but I do have bad days sometimes and I'm secretly quite sensitive.
My best memories are of spending time with my friends- waking up the morning after an amazing night out and thinking "What happened last night and who the hell is spooning me?! Oh, it's so-and-so. Let's go back to sleep now!"

Well, I've rambled and if you've managed to make it through this- Thanks!!!  And keep checking because eventually this blog WILL get more interesting.

Bye for now!
Love,
