U-G-G-L-Y: They Ain't Got No Alibi!

Hello again!!

I'm back, finally, after my long  self-imposed hiatus.  Like I mentioned in my last post (oh so very long ago) I have had to endure a tonne of university work over the last month but that's me finished now! Until September.  I rather enjoy my university's messed up semester dates.

Now, back to business. The weather in Glasgow has been absolutely gorgeous as of late. The sun- which only sometimes puts in an appearance up here- has definitely got his metaphorical hat on. My wee tootsies are seeing the sunlight for the first time in nine months So, imagine my horror when I came across these little beauties whilst perusing the articles on Stylist.

Wedding
Uggs. Seriously, Wedding Uggs? Wedding Uggs!!!!!

Now, I make no secret of the fact that I despise Ugg boots. I don't know why I do, I just always have. My mom owns a  pair. My best friend owns several pairs. Even the entire population of Glasgow seems to own a pair! I actually saw a wee lassie with a crop top, leggings and a pair of Ugg boots walking around the city centre yesterday in the TWENTY-FIVE DEGREE HEAT!! I was over-heating in a maxi dress and wedges.

But these, I think, are a step too far- even for the Ugg obsessed population of Britain.

I should say, before I start sounding too much like a raving loony, that I know that they're comfortable. And cosy when it's cold. And I should also say that I have worn them myself, in the not-so-distant past. But I felt as though I was traipsing around with pillows strapped to my feet. And I did not feel attractive. Not one little bit.

So, this leaves me wondering. On the day when you're supposed to feel beautiful and sexy and elegant, why on Earth would you want to wear Ugg boots?  Or fluffy, Ugg sandals if you prefer.

Okay. So the article on Stylist calls this a 'no brainer'.  The idea that we can swap heels for comfort isn't new but to actually walk down the isle in these things?  No chance in hell. I'd rather eat them than wear them. And to be perfectly honest, I imagine many brides feel the same way.

Or at least, I hope they do.

....saying that, I have been proven wrong quite frequently in the past.....

This is the offending article by the way. Just in case you're interested.
